Author's Notes:this one, this one was really hard…. I wrote it in about 15 min, because my day was already nearly over, and I had no real idea, and this is sooo unbetaed and littered with mistakes – sorry… it was a struggle
Draco, by nature, was a cautious person. He didn't take things for granted, even though people think with his wealth and upbringing he would. But the death of his grandmaman and his pets through the years have taught him early that nothing lasts, besides the lessons his parents taught him.
So, it most likely was even more a shock to him, than to anybody else, when he hoped that this with Harry would last.
And it happened in such a nothing moment, that he couldn't even express what was in his mind.
He was searching for some parchment at Harry's desk, as Harry told him to grab it himself. And then he found this drawing. He knew that Harry had picked up drawing and painting to relax, and to get in control of his hyper-activity, but still seeing the star chart and how Harry mapped out the stag in what essentially was Draco's side of the family he never got to know… it changed something. Suddenly he understood something about Harry, that he never thought about before. Harry's patronous most likely was not about a happy memory he really had, but most likely about a wish for a family and a connection to people he wouldn't have to lose.
And all Draco could think about when he saw that drawing was: I want to be that connection. I want to be here for him forever.
He froze as soon as he became aware of his thought, and then the panic settled in, because they certainly were nowhere near forever in their relationship.
Luckily, Harry calling him for dinner, made him unfreeze himself from the desk and grab the first empty parchment and head back to the kitchen.
One day they might even talk about forever.
