accidental meeting
Harry breathed a sigh of relief as he left the castle behind, and walked through the grounds. He loved being back at Hogwarts, knowing that Voldemort for the first time will not ruin the end of his year. But he underestimated the kids attending the school. The younger ones wanted his autograph, or tips on the most mundane things. And the older ones wanted to date him o know him intimately. It had been truly bizarre.
Attending the Yule-Ball on his own had been his biggest mistake so far, but Ginny was with Dean, Hermione was with Ron, and Luna had Neville. It would have been wrong asking any of them. And he could not ask the Patils because of the disaster that was their first Yule-Ball.
Here in the darkness he could breath again, and relax a little. It was a cold but nice night. The icicles on the trees and around the castle sparkled in the moon light. It was such a simple thing, but Harry enjoyed it.
And then he noticed the other person enjoying the night. However where Harry sparkled due to his dress robes, Draco could not hide due to his hair. Harry was surprised to find that Draco was not even wearing formal robes. He tried to think if he had seen Draco at the Ball at all.
He watched as Draco picked one of the icicles of the tree, before he put it in his mouth. It was such a weird gesture for someone like Draco.
“What a wonderful night,” Harry remarked as he stepped closer to Draco.
Draco turned around surprised: “What are you doing here?”
“Getting some air?”
“This is a bit far off for just getting some air,” Draco said dryly.
“Well, yes. I think I am done with the ball,” Harry shrugged before he picked an icicle for himself.
“That tastes different than I imagined,” he said, smiling at Draco who was looking at him, as if he was the one who is crazy.
“It’s the magic. Here in the forest, it is everywhere, so much so that you can taste it. It tastes differently for everyone, or so it has been said,” Draco explained.
“Tastes like apples, and oranges, and sugar,” Harry said.
“At least it’s not treacle,” Draco rolled his eyes.
“Does this mean, yours tastes like chocolate?”
“I will have you know I do enjoy more than just chocolate-“
“-could have fooled me,” Harry interrupted him.
“As nice as this is, I think I have to go back,” Draco sates, though he has a small smile on his lips.
“Maybe we can do this again?” Harry asks.
“What? Or even better why?”
“This was nice, talking to you, tasting magic with you,” Harry said, sounding hopeful even to himself.
“Maybe. Maybe if you manage to find me again,” Draco said before he returned to the castle.
Harry grinned. He would find Draco again, he had a map that would help him to do so.
