Just read this whole story (could only handle so many Christmas stories at a time). Guh. It gutted me from the beginning ... so much pain for them both, in different ways.
OMG, I have to say I felt ill when I read that they'd gone their separate ways - the cottage made sense, but NO! They can't not be together! And then you made it all better by giving them a fresh start.
