as usual for all my reviews: contains spoilers
not that many this time around though
some facts first:
Cells at work on Animedb
anime; 14 episodes; 2018
--> that is the most recent anime i watched; WOW
each episode has abouer 24 min; but if you jump over start, ending and preview you get down to about 18-20min, which is reasonable
the animation style is rather good, especially when it comes to blood and fluids, also the colours are really bright, giving it an over all happy feeling
there there is 1 overall arch, but it's not really that important, and only 2 episodes are directly linked; the rest are short mini- stories where we get to know new characters or abilities that the characters in our blood vessles have;
there is scientifc background to most of all that is narrated - i checked up on it, so that is a plus; also i know now more about the blood in english and japanese than i do in my mother tongue *ups?*
my thoughts:
i adored it to pieces! i liked that there was so much blood, because any anime giving me tons of blood is always a plus to me; but also it is hilarious! i laughed so hard, so often because it was situational comedy and that is the best kind!
and then there is cuteness - utter, adorable cuteness! and it works, and does important stuff and i am so lucky that the character pinched it in the cheek because damn i wanted to do that all the fucking time as well - and that is the great part: the series does NOT take itself to serious; the cuteness of the platelets is often mentioned and distracts the red-blood-cells form work; its awesome
here a image for the cuteness

my favourite character are the macrophages: they are all sexy as hell *gosh those boobs*, and their voice is that kind of seducing, but also speaking like everybody else is super stupid, but they are caring and kind AND absolutely motherfucker badasses; and when marcophages comes to play, they play hard!
i like that for them doing their work is the way it is!
of course i went and found another picture:

of course the story itself revolves around a clumsy red-blood cell, and a badass white-blood cell; though all white blood cells are characterised as maniacs, which makes them even more amusing!
it is not a deep diving anime, but it is amusing AND you do learn something about your blood and what it all does, and about some of the sicknesses out there (12 of them i think) but that is clearly not the main focus of the anime; the main focus is on entertaining and that it does beautifully, i was never bored watching it, and i dont think i wasted my time watching it, quite the contrary i am willing to say that it will make my re-watch list; it's just too amusing, and too lovely not to rewatch, also it left me with a happy feeling; which in these days is something we all can use!
my recommendation: go and watch it, it is worth your time, since you have to much of it, and it will make you laugh, when you just go with the flow of it all
PS: i read that there is a 2nd season in planning, i of course will watch it
