Snow

Harry liked snow. At least he thinks he liked snow. No, it was true he liked snow. He didn't like the cold though. Snow in summer that would make his day.

But every time he said something similar whilst growing up, the people around him made it very clear how little they thought about his brilliant idea.

With a small smile he still thinks fondly about his very first snow in summer. He had been lying in the grass after a brutal quidditch training with Draco. The Manor up on the hill gleaming in sunlight had been a reassuring sight somehow. That there were things meant to endure.

And as he took in the sight he started to talk, share his silly little secret with Draco. He was so embarrassed once he realised what he said, that he closed his eyes, and hid his face in Draco's lab. He felt silly and small all over, and only waited for the tirade to start. But for long moments nothing had happened, and then there was the soft touch of cold on his cheeks.

That moment made him realise how amazing magic truly is. Snow in summer just for him, because Draco could. And the best part was that Draco didn't say anything, he just made it snow, laid back in the grass and enjoyed it. In that regard Draco managed to surprise him, he did the most amazing things, without needing to point out how amazing they were.

It was when a warm hand moved into his, and the air around him turned warmer, that he returned from his memory.

He smiled as he saw Draco's soft expression.

He had always liked snow, and ever since Draco snow does no longer mean cold either, it is warm and fuzzy and makes the world beautiful.
