Harry stared at the door knocker which took great pleasure telling him that he will never let him in. He argued back at the wretched thing, meeting insult with insult and had to fight to hide is amusement, because he had the feeling, that the door knocker just enjoyed having someone to talk to. Which was a strange notion and one he really ought not to have, but every other word he would swear he sees a grin on the kocker’s grimm face.

“Clueless young half-bloods have no business visiting the most esteemed house of Malfoy. Go back to where you coming from, it is no business of mine if other houses let you in.”

“Esteemed my arse more like doomed house of-“

“Potter, why are you insulting my door?” Draco asked him sharply.

“Because your door started it. Rude little thing that it is.”

“Potter, this magnificent doorway stood for nearly a century the way you see it now. It is neither little, nor rude. You must have offended it sensibilities first. Most likely with your weak posture and your lack of personal grooming.”

“Funny, you sound just as snotty as your knocker does. Makes one wonder about a lot of things...”

“Are you done being an insulting prat?”

“Are you done avoiding me? Also who is the prat here? You could at least show of some of your manners and invite me in?”

“After I caught you insulting my doorway? Next you will lay fire to my kitchen, and flood my gardens. No, I do not believe you deserve entrance.”

“Well, at least now I understand where your flare for the dramatics come from. I don’t even want to imagine what your mirrors are like, if your door knocker already has such an attitude,” Harry said without missing a beat.

This was fun.
Ridicules but fun.

“If you think that insulting me further will make me want to invite you, you are solemnly mistaken”, Draco huffed.

“Come on Draco, let me in before I really do something stupid and lose my control or something,” Harry pleaded because it was starting to get cold out here.

“I am not sure, that I like that sound of that. But then I guess you win, since I do not want to endanger all of those around us!” Draco hissed, but opened the door further, before he turned around and went away.

Harry followed Draco without thinking, only stopping to turn around when the door behind him shuts with a loud ‘bang’, with an very ominous undertone too it.
Maybe coming to Malfoy Manor was not one of his brighter ideas...

With a hurried step Harry went after Draco, not wanting to be alone. Because what if not set the house on fire, but the house burned him down? He could already imagine it... the only thing being that it would lead to a lot of trouble for Draco.

“Potter, stop getting aggravated over whatever your little brain can’t handle. I can already sense the magic in you and your surroundings shifting.”

“Ahm... sorry... I was just-“

“Being stupid and letting your control slip? Believe me I know,” Draco said, as Harry stepped into what had to be the main kitchen of Malfoy Manor.

“No reason to be this mean,” Harry grumbled barely audible.
Draco only huffed and turned back to the kettle.

“Uhh, is that a flaming plum pudding?” Harry asked surprised. “It looks amazing. I never saw one of those before.”

Draco turned around, one eyebrow raised, but didn’t further comment on the pudding.
“What is it again that brought you here?” he asked instead.

“You have been avoiding me ever since our sleigh ride... I wanted to know why. Also I was getting bored. Being in that bloody huge house alone all day. So I thought I would visit you, so that we could be alone together, you know?” Harry answered smiling a bit sheepishly. Truly he wanted to know what Draco’s problem was, but he feared if he asked that straight out, he would be thrown out for real.
