Harry Potter and his mobile phone:
Harry Potter got his mobile phone as a gift in the year of 2003 by his cousin Dudley.
They have rekindled and some sort of friendship going on, and Dudley asked Harry to consider using a phone instead of owls, as his neighbors were asking if he was keeping endangered animals in his flat, or even worse was smuggling them.
Dudly got Harry a Smasung SGH- E700, which Harry thought was absolutely awesome. And he was rather happy with how long the battery lasted... at least if Draco didn't get it between his fingers. It's not that Draco would play any games- which due to Draco being a spell-creator and therefore always very much surrounded by magic wouldn't work for long anyway, but he liked to open and close it a lot. Apparently it makes a very satisfying closing noise. Since Harry secretly agreed, he really had no argument against that.
As Harry was working with muggle teenagers, they showed him how to customise his mobile. So now he has a very lovely ringtone.
And on his screen is a picture of Draco looking amused while reading a book. Harry liked that snap-shot a lot, because it was in their home, and therefore Draco was completely unguarded and soft, and all just his. He didn't show the image to anybody either. It was his, and his alone.
The thing about being a wizard and owning a phone was that most of his wizarding friends did not own one due to it not working properly with all the magic around them. But through the times he got Dudley's wife's number and she would text him, and he still has contact with some of the kids or teenagers he taught through the years. It did annoy him that sms were rather expensive and limited to 160letters including space. So far he had only ever called Dudley, but that was amusing to him because Dudley’s gruff voice got distorted in a funny way over the phone. Draco made the mistake to tell Dudley how hard Harry had laughed at that, since then Dudley requests Harry uses sms. Here is a peak in their last chat.
Very recently he started having his phone remind him of stuff, he otherwise forgets- Draco teases him about how his phone is more on time and up to date than he himself is, but what does Draco know?
So sure, his mobile doesn't work in the magical world as good as it should, but since he works in muggle London, he doesn't mind. And it is an easy way to get Draco to away from work thoughts and then shift all his attention on himself.
It was not the best gift he ever got- Draco would be angry if he dared to insinuate it was, but it was a usefulone and a thoughtful one, and he liked that it connected him to others in a fast way.
