Chapter 10

He heard the door being opened, but he didn't want to move. He was comfortable. He was warm, the voices where just a soft whisper of nothing and really why should he move?

"Well Potter, as usual your lack of control got you in a right mess, and others have to help you clean it up."

He is certain he hadn't moved so fast in ages.
"What are you doing here?"

"Helping you, because apparently nothing Severus tried to teach you stuck."

Oh the audacity! And how he hated that voice, that drawl. It always managed to get his temper rising. Just like his bastard father, and like Snape's voice. Sometimes even Theo. Most of the time Pansy, though with her it might be the voice itself.
Apparently Slytherins had that type of voice that set him on edge.

"You must be aware of the mess you are in. As far as I can see, you even invited it in."
Malfoy was leaning against the wall, looking as if he knew everything, when indeed he knew very little of what haunted him.

"Oh of course, I invited it in. You are crazy. Why are you even here? Who let you in? Didn't anybody tell you that it's dangerous around me?" His voice went more to a screech the more he realised that Malfoy was in the room with him. He might not know much, but he was very aware of the fact that Malfoy was a powerful wizard.

"It's dangerous because you have no control. I can see you actually trying to get my magic away from me. But unlike you, I listened to what was taught to me."

Malfoy was mocking him, he was certain!

"Tell me Potter, what do you think you were supposed to learn in that school of ours. Not the superficial stuff, but the foundation. What were you taught?"

He just stared at Draco. What was he taught? Magic, how to use it, how to create it, what spell had what function, how to defend what was his, how to stop evil from happening. And then some things about creatures and plants, but really he remembers even less about that then of the potions he had learned.

"You have brain Potter, for your own benefit use it. What connects all you have learned?"

"I don't know!" he roared because really he had learned so much but at the same time, he was always preoccupied with something else, and then Hermione had to save him.

"I shouldn't be surprised, but to tell the truth I am. At the core of the education of magical beings is control. Not only for wizards, but for dragons, unicorns, pixies. and all the others. We need to control our magic, otherwise wild magic will."

"Wild magic? If wild magic is that dangerous we would be told about it!" he replied angrily.

"You are! You were. Be precise with your wand movement, measure your ingredients, don't do sloppy spells, be careful pointing your wand around, don't tickle a sleeping dragon. Does any of this ring a bell?" Malfoy sounded exasperated, and he really didn't like that tone.

"So what, from that all I was to get that there is wild magic out there? And what purpose does it have, what does it do, why is it dangerous? And why do you know and "see" it and others can't?" He mocked him now, because of course this was a delusion. This was just his mind playing another trick on him. He should recognise Malfoy by now, he was one of the regulars after all. But this one was so different than the others had been.

"Lovegood can see it too, probably always could. Though I have never seen a nargal in my life, so there is something to the loony part too."

He snorted at that.

"I am what is called a magic reader. It is a called a gift but it is really a curse. At the moment for example I am seeing the most stupid being ever. There is so much wild magic in you, some dark, some incredible old, some just lost, and then you let your own magical core be taken away from you. I can see your magic trying to move but being held back by that curse you willingly let be put on you."

"What are you saying? Why are you saying all that?"
He wasn't certain what the delusion was trying to tell him, but he was certain that he didn't like it. It scared him. "What do you want me to do?"

"Get Theo to remove that curse. You will never be able to let the wild magic go, as long as you don't feel your own magic. You are a magical being, you need a magical core. Though really stuffing yourself with that much wild magic... Work on your occlumency. And try to control yourself. Maybe get Theo to give you some of the old books, I know you are not the studious kind, but-" and here he looked around the white room "-Theo hates this room. He had to nurse his mother in this room. At the end not even her favourite houself was allowed in. Did you know that... he had promised himself never to set a foot back into this house. So for my friend, who regards you as his friend, at least try."

"Will I remember this conversation when I wake up? Or will it be like usually?"

"I am not a delusion. In fact Potter you are NOT delusional. From what I can see, and guess since I am aware of your thinking process you are lonely. The wild magic wants to play, wants to help you in the only way it can: through chaos. That, to answer your question from before, is the propose of wild magic: chaos."

"That doesn't explain anything. And if you are real, than why do you have to leave? You could stay longer?"

There was a huff, and finally Malfoy moved away from the wall he was leaning against.
"The thing is Potter, just because I can see it, does not mean I can fight it forever. Wild magic is very persuasive, and it takes all my control right now, to not give into it. And the sad thing is, you still manage to rile my temper. So excuse me, for not enjoying our lovely chat longer, but I like to play it safe."

"Were have you been? Why were you not there? How could you leave everything behind?" He screamed the questions, because he always did, because all this was Malfoy's fault. He should have been there, he should not have left. If he had been there everything would still be alright and how it was meant to be!

"See you soon, Potter. And work on your occlumency!"
With that he opened the door and left Harry alone once more.
