Review: Assassins Creed 3D

my parents gave me for christmas a cinema trip, and i could decide which movie to go.
i chose assassins creed for 2 reasons: 1.i fucking adore the vid-games, like i play all of them over and over and over (i still need to get part 3 and 4 though and i'm not so sure if i like the american world with my assassins creed that much really)
2. michael fassbender! ever since 'shame' he simply convinced me that he is a great actor and while there are some projects he did, which i am not that fond of, most of his work is awesome
so at first i was very, very excited to go
yesterday night before the movie i had a break-down into worry-land. what if it was bad? what if it wasn't like in the games, what if fassbender did it wrong?
well, here is me after the movie and long version short: i'm still conflicted!


the long version

• first because really i need to get it out: 3D sucks!!! i know, i know many people hail it like the holy grail but it's not really that much of a gimmick for me! especially as i already have to wear glasses due to bad sight, and so the 3D glasses are even more annoying! (i cant wear contacts as they dont work for me due to an anomaly in sight)



• the music was fucking awesome and i soooo am going to get the cd from it!



• fassbender did good! he did really good! one thing i did not like- true spoiler: *the part where he suddenly has to lose his shirt and do the rest of it half naked, and then he goes and hits the fucking glass and has not one cut! folks glass doesnt work that way!*



• the female now lead was meh *shrugs* the female past lead was OMG i want to have her and let her do all the stuff to me, and please can i lick her boots (after she washed them but still)



• i liked the re-use of actors



• of all the CGI that of course is in this movie it could have been a lot worse- they did a decent job on it!



• the story is decent enough! and can be enjoyed without having played the game



• there are some scenes that gamer will enjoy better than others, but that was to be expected, and honestly i wanted it that way. others will baffle gamers more than others, simply because it is so different than what you are expected to do in the game



• they kept romance out of it for 97% and that made it so much better in my eyes!!! huge plus and it gives so much to the story!
  
  
• can hologram screens be forbidden already- even in the movie it was obvious that they make no sense, because you could not see SHIT on them. what good does a screen do- that shows you what is behind the screen and NOT what is ON the fucking screen? i don't get it
  
  
• another point that sit not well with me- another real spoiler: *there are 2 major combat scenes, and sadly they are butchered to the ground, there is so much editing and stuff going on, that you will never know who is fighting whom where and when and so the whole scenes become pointless as you can not cheer for your character. this also is a modern film device which i just wish would die out but they keep on going back to it, rendering every fight scene useless*
  
  
• and my last point that did not sit well with me- last real spoiler *they honestly believe they will make at least one more movie in that franchise, and i for one am sick of having movie after movie after movie ruining the first of the series that was really good - i mean they are making a pirates of the caribbean 5 or 6? lost count there because after the first the others are meh! and i stopped watching them after the 3 (star wars does not count- that is different!)*

all in all i did like it mostly, and i will re-watch it in english for certain, but somehow i also think they could have done a better job. i dont however regret seeing it, and in this day of age that is more than other movies can say!
